I understand outreach as an integral part of philosophical work. Philosophy matters not only in academic journals and classrooms, but also when it helps wider publics making sense of their world, including urgent ethical and political challenges.
My public engagement has two focuses: one on climate ethics and climate justice, and another one on the public value of philosophy as a place of resistance and something to be protected against budget cuts at all educational levels. Since 2014, I aim to make philosophical work on those topics accessible through different formats, including podcasts, radio, newspaper essays, interviews, public events, blogs, and educational initiatives.
My commitment to public philosophy as been recently recognised with the 2026 Andrew Light Award in Public Philosophy from the International Society for Environmental Ethics (ISEE).
