I’m very happy to share some exciting news: I’ve been awarded €471,000 as part of the international SUNRISE project (Extreme Events in a Warming, Unequal World), where I lead part of the research on climate justice and the philosophy of climate science
As part of this, I’m now looking to hire a postdoctoral researcher to work with me at the Erasmus School of Philosophy, Erasmus University Rotterdam.
SUNRISE brings together 19 partners across three continents and aims to advance our understanding of climate and weather extremes, their impacts, and how we can respond to them in more just and effective ways.
The postdoc will work closely with me on:1. The role of attribution science in climate justice2. How to conceptualize climate harms, adaptation, and compensation claims
The ideal candidate has a background in philosophy of climate science, with demonstrable expertise in the role of epistemic and non-epistemic values in climate science; and/or a background in climate ethics, with demonstrable expertise in assessing the role of scientific information for climate justice purposes.
It’s a great opportunity for someone interested in climate ethics, philosophy of climate science, and interdisciplinary work, and to be part of a large, international research collaboration.
